Adjustment Instructions Depending on the product and number of characters, your message may be too big, too small, or in the case of bumper stickers, display off-center, all of which can be easily remedied by following these simple instructions or by contacting me directly. The Design Tool From the products displayed, click on the product you want to adjust to enter the Zazzle Design Tool. The right side of the Design Tool screen, underneath the "Customize It!" tab, should look like the image below. Readjusting The Image Text Is Too Big - If your message is displaying as two lines or was cut off, you can reduce the size of your text by using the text appearance tool as shown below and clicking on the "-" (minus) button to reduce the size of your text until it fits properly. Text Is Too Small - If your text looks too small, you can also resize it using the "+" (plus) button on the text appearance tool until it's the size you want. Changing your text to all CAPS or changing the default font to something bolder (see Advanced Techniques below) may also help. If your text needs to be repositioned, you can adjust it using the up or down "move" arrows as shown below. (Tip: using the "Ctrl" key while clicking on the up or down arrows will move the text in smaller increments.) Bumper Sticker Instructions - Because bumper stickers are horizontal, it's easy for the text to move out of alignment and leave the heart off-center. To remedy that, simply follow these instructions: From within the Design Tool underneath the "Customize It!" tab, click on "Select" and then "Select all" to group all the different pieces together. Click on "Align" and then "Space selected evenly (horiz)" to redistribute them evenly. Click on the "Center text horizontally" button as shown below to get everything centered. If you're not happy with the layout you can either make further adjustments using the available tools or contact me for help. Advanced Techniques Changing The Font - If you'd like to change the lettering style, you can choose a different font from the drop-down menu available on both text panels in the Design Tool. The text panel with your custom text should be opened by default. Simply click on the "font" button to view all the available fonts and select the one you like (a good alternative font is "Ad Lib"). Click on the other text panel labeled "I" and change its font to the same style. To make any adjustments to size or spacing, click on each panel and use the "move" and "text appearance" tools to adjust your design to how you'd like it. To change the size of the heart, click the "Heart" panel and use the "resize" buttons as shown below. If the "I" and "Heart" are no longer centered, click on the "I" panel and then while holding the "Ctrl" key, click on the "Heart" panel to select them both. Then click the "center text horizontally" button to center them together. Making The Design Bigger Or Smaller - If your design doesn't fit on the product the way you'd like, you can either resize each item individually using the tools available on each panel, or group them together and resize them all at once. Unfortunately, while this grouping technique is faster, it also tends to move things around quite a bit so you'll need to reposition all the elements when you're done. From within the Design Tool, click on "Select" and then "Select all" to produce a "bounding box" around all the items as shown below. If the box doesn't show, which it won't when working on t-shirts, click on the "Design" tab on the left side of the screen above the shirt. Move the mouse cursor to any corner of the bounding box until it changes into a double arrow icon, click the left mouse button and drag the box until all the items are the size you'd like. If the "I" and "Heart" are no longer spaced correctly, click on the "I" panel and use the "move" tool to reposition it (Tip: using the "Ctrl" key while clicking on the up or down arrows will move the text in smaller increments). Then while holding the "Ctrl" key, click on the "Heart" panel to select them both and then click the "center text horizontally" button to center them together. If your custom text is off-center, click on its panel and then click the "center text horizontally" button to reposition it. Then, if necessary, use the up and down "move" arrows to adjust the vertical spacing. Finally, to re-center the entire design, click on "Select" and then "Select all" and click on the "center text vertically" button. To get a better idea of how the design looks, click anywhere outside the product to view it without the bounding box, or click on "Select" and then "Select None". Changing The Background And Text Colors - For a design that's truly unique, you can change the color of the text on any item as well as the background color on most non-apparel items (buttons, etc.) To change the background color, from within the Design Tool, click on "Colors" and then "Background" and choose the color you'd like from the display palette. To change the text color, click on the panel for the text you'd like to change and click the "select text color" button as shown below to bring up the color palette. Then choose the color you'd like for your text. To get a better idea of how the design looks, click anywhere outside the product to view it without the bounding box, or click on "Select" and then "Select None". When your custom design is ready, simply click on "Add To Cart" to make your no-risk purchase.
